About the conference
ICSE is software engineering’s premier venue: testing, program analysis, empirical software engineering, developer tooling, and — prominently in recent years — AI for software and software for AI. A research-track ICSE paper is the field’s standard unit of top-tier output.
The research track closes unusually far ahead — typically spring of the year before the conference — with a major-revision cycle in between. The surrounding ecosystem (FSE and ASE as sibling top venues, plus many co-located workshops) provides deadlines throughout the year.
