Edit Word documents right in Kahubi

Open any .docx and type straight into it, with real pages that reflow as you write. Your original upload is never changed: edits save automatically to an "(edited)" copy. When you ask the assistant to change a document, it now keeps your bold, italics and tables, can insert whole new pages (a cover page, a new section), highlight passages in colour, and add tables, charts and diagrams from the Insert menu.

Talk to your papers

Press the phone icon in the chat to start a voice conversation with your assistant. Ask about the papers and files in your project out loud, follow up naturally, and interrupt at any time, just like a call. Speak in your own language, choose the assistant's voice and decide how detailed its answers should be in Settings → AI → Voice, or simply ask during the call ("speak Swedish", "be more detailed").

Listen to your papers and drafts

Press the headphones button on any PDF, draft or selected passage to have it read aloud. Jump to any page or section, skip the references, change the speed and voice, and keep listening on your phone with the screen off. The page scrolls along with the voice and the sentence being read is highlighted, so you can follow along.

Connect research databases to your assistant

Settings → Integrations → Data sources now lists more than 80 databases you can connect with one click: national archives and libraries, statistics offices, literature and preprint databases, clinical trials, protein and gene databases, law, news and more. Once connected, the assistant searches them for you in chat and tells you where each result came from.

Every run of a flow in one place, and nothing gets lost

Click any flow type (for example Systematic reviews) to see all your runs across projects in one table, with their stage and what each one is about. Anything a flow generates is now kept: regenerate freely and restore an earlier version from the version chip.

Smaller improvements

• Paper citations in chat are checked against your library before they become links.
• The assistant can read one section of a long document, or search inside it, instead of skimming the start.
• In long conversations the assistant now remembers the end of its own earlier replies, such as the options it offered you.
• Send a file on its own in chat and the assistant takes the first step with it.
• Word export now matches the compiled PDF: numbered sections, proper dashes and clean black headings.
• Figures and tables in LaTeX drafts can no longer spill across columns or cover text.
• Interviews: timestamps work on long recordings, coding suggestions are much faster, and application forms or supplementary files are no longer mistaken for transcripts.
• Documents up to 200 MB can be uploaded, and files you uploaded can now be deleted from your library.
• The reader remembers your page and zoom when you come back to a PDF.
• Conferences show the next edition when the last one is over, and "Draft abstract" lets you set type, length, language and tone.
• Survey design suggests questions as soon as you add a research question.
• Settings → Account: download all your data in one file, or change your sign-in email.

• The Discussion tab is now Discuss: the project-wide Everyone channel (your existing discussion history, unchanged), extra project channels for a topic, and direct messages with teammates.
• Members moved into Discuss: one Members button shows everyone with roles and presence, and the owner manages access from the same place.
• New messages arrive live, unread conversations show a dot, and inbox items deep-link straight to the right channel or DM.

• Long AI writes (systematic reviews, grants, reports and more) now run in the background: leave the page, watch the live word count if you stay, and get a notification when the draft is ready. Working flows and chats show a pulsing dot in the sidebar that turns blue when done.
• Systematic review PDF fetching shows per-paper progress the moment each paper resolves, and library papers update the instant a PDF lands, with no refresh needed.
• Small draft edits now rewrite just the section you asked about instead of the whole document, the AI knows which page everything is on, switching to the PDF view compiles automatically, and you can select text in the compiled PDF to edit it.
• The guided tour now offers one-minute tutorial videos along the way.

• Share any project with teammates as viewer, commenter or editor, straight from the project overview; member avatars show on project rows.
• A team channel per project (on the overview and as a right-panel tab), with threads, @-mentions and attachable papers, drafts, files and chats.
• @-mention teammates in the AI chat: they get a deep link to the message, the assistant never sees the tag. Comment threads on any message, and on papers in the reader (matched by DOI across the team).
• The bell is now an inbox with Mentions, Threads and System tabs, live updates, and an email digest for anything you missed (opt out in Settings).

• Research answers and journal submission flows — go from a question to a grounded answer, and from a finished manuscript to a submission-ready package.
• Delphi expert finder, survey engine, and scale validation (CVI) for questionnaire-based studies.
• Ethics application and experiment (CONSORT) flows for study planning and reporting.
• PDF resolver chain: Kahubi now tries multiple open-access sources to find the full text of a paper automatically.
