About the conference

EMNLP is ACL’s autumn counterpart and its equal in the eyes of most NLP researchers, with a historical tilt toward empirical and applied work — datasets, evaluation, and systems — that has long since broadened to the whole field.

Like ACL, it accepts papers through the ACL Rolling Review pool; the ARR cycle feeding EMNLP has recently fallen around May–June with commitment in late summer and the conference in November or December. Findings-tier acceptance applies here too.
