Lists by publication year
Each list ranks the articles Cell published that year by citations counted in OpenAlex on the snapshot date. Ranks are frozen once published.
About these lists
Cell published between 421 and 648 eligible articles a year in the years covered, so each list shows the top 50. Every entry shows its rank, the share of the year’s cohort it beats, its citation count and, where OpenAlex has one, the abstract. Authors can claim an entry for a badge and a CV line, or ask to have their name withheld.
Read the methodology for cohort rules, exclusions and the snapshot policy.
