The check shows what is missing. Kahubi fixes it, with you in control of every change.

  • Fix what the check found

Kahubi edits your own Word file and keeps the original, so you can compare before it goes to American Journal of Evaluation. Prefer Word tracked changes? Switch them on in Settings.

  • Hit the word limit in one run

Over the limit? The AI shortens the manuscript to an exact word count and keeps your argument and your voice.

  • Cite what American Journal of Evaluation publishes

Find recent papers from this journal, add them to your library and let the AI weave them into your introduction.

  • Every reference is a real paper

The AI cites only papers in your library and marks claims that still need a source, instead of inventing one.

  • Similarity check before the editor

Run a similarity check on the final draft before you submit, so overlaps never come as a surprise.

  • Your manuscript stays yours

Frequently asked questions

Where do these American Journal of Evaluation rules come from?
They were read from the journal's author guidelines on journals.sagepub.com and summarized as facts (last checked 11 October 2026). Journals update their rules quietly, so confirm the details on the official page before you submit.
Is my manuscript uploaded when I check it?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser. Pasted text and Word files are read on your own device and never sent to a server, stored or logged. Only if you click "Fix in Kahubi" while signed in is the manuscript saved, to your own account.
How is the word count calculated?
Words are counted the way Microsoft Word counts them. When the journal's limit excludes the abstract or the reference list, the checker leaves them out, as long as they sit under an "Abstract" and a "References" heading.
Why does a check say "Check" instead of pass or fix?
Some rules cannot be verified with certainty from text alone, such as whether a statement belongs on a separate title page or whether a name in the text identifies you. Those results are flagged for you to look at.
Can Kahubi format my manuscript for American Journal of Evaluation?
Yes. "Fix in Kahubi" sets American Journal of Evaluation as your target journal and opens your manuscript with what the check found. The AI then fixes it in your own Word file (as tracked changes too, if you switch that on in Settings), shortens it to the word limit if needed, and works in your own writing style. The free plan is enough to try it.
Does American Journal of Evaluation charge a publication fee?
According to the journal: No submission/publication fees; optional Sage Choice gold OA. Fees change, so check the journal's website before you submit.
